Safeguarding Structure

We have designed a robust and all-encompassing support system that places our apprentices at the forefront of our apprenticeship programme. Our learner-focused approach to Safeguarding and Welfare underscores the importance of understanding and addressing individual experiences to provide impactful support for all.

Our multi-layered support structure ensures that Safeguarding and Welfare are the cornerstones of our delivery. Our dedicated team, including Trainers, Assessor Coaches, Designated Persons for Safeguarding, a committed Safeguarding, Welfare and Inclusion Lead for all Volkswagen Group apprentices, and our Central Safeguarding Manager, work together to ensure consistent, relevant, and legally compliant practices. We are committed to enabling each individual to fully engage in their training and learning, whether at the National Learning Centre or in their respective dealerships.

Learner Welfare

and Safeguarding

Each of our team members have Enhanced DBS and are trained in top safeguarding practices. They are keen and able to provide direct support to apprentices or refer them to the right staff member. We have strong partnerships with external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for our apprentices. Our comprehensive support system ensures uninterrupted education and training for learners, coupled with personalised assistance.

As an education provider, we aim to continue the pastoral care and support that learners have received in their previous settings. We work closely with parents and guardians for our under-18 learners to provide tailored support. Our Safeguarding, Welfare, and Inclusion Lead is available to address any queries about the programme structure and the support we offer for your young person.
Diversity and Inclusion

On our apprenticeship programme, every individual is cherished, and we are dedicated to fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect. We embrace our differences and actively combat discrimination so that everyone can feel confident to be themselves without fear of bias. Our strong commitment to inclusivity means that we work closely with each learner to ensure they receive the necessary support and resources throughout their apprenticeship journey. We are unwavering in our dedication to ensuring that every member of our community feels supported and valued. We not only listen to our learners but also aim to positively impact their individual learning experiences, empowering them to achieve their qualifications.
Welfare Curriculum

In addition to our excellent technical programme, we offer a wide range of supplementary curriculum topics such as optional life skills e-learning modules and workbooks addressing real-life issues. Our monthly ‘Hot Topics’ sessions also give apprentices the opportunity to learn about broader subjects related to equality, diversity, and inclusion, as well as how to stay safe and recognize potential risks in the workplace or in their personal lives.
Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)

As part of our welfare support, we have connections with several external charities and organisations that we can refer to for Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG). This information is crucial for our ongoing education and support for both learners and staff. From mental health and well-being services to assistance for individuals with caring responsibilities, learners can access support tailored to their specific circumstances. This comprehensive list provides appropriate external support options and a direct pathway to a variety of care providers.
